Husky Sledding Safari - 2 or 4 hours programs

Come to explore the magical winter wonderland on a husky sled. This safari takes you to forest and lakes to beautiful scenery around us. The duration at the kennel is 2 or 4 hours including safety instructions.

Two adults share a sled; one drives, and one sits on the sled. During the half point, the seats will be switched, so that everyone gets to drive the sled.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by personnel who leads you to the kennel to meet the dogs. Your guide makes sure everyone is dressed up warmly and will then hold a short driving lesson on how to control the sled. The guide will lead the tour through a beautiful forest, making a few stops on the way so that everyone can take some pictures. After the trip, the guide will lead you into a Lappish style hut where hot drinks (coffee/tea) are served (2hours program). At the halfway, your guide will serve you traditional Finnish lunch on an open fire in a Finnish style hut (4hours program).While enjoying the drinks or food and the warmth of the bonfire, the guide will tell stories about the sled dogs as well as answer your questions.

Before leaving there is a chance to take the last pictures and give out the last hugs for the dogs after which taxi will take you back to Apartment.

The kennel owners and the guides are all passionate mushers who have dedicated their lives to the sport and the dogs. There are approximately 100 Alaskan Huskies living on the kennel and the dog pack consists all the way from puppies to elite racing dogs and retired oldies.

Price includes warm winter clothes and shoes. Pick up and return transfers from / to Apartment Neitamo44 costs 12€/pers. You can go to kennel by your own car too. 10km from Apartment.

Duration from Apartment and back is 2,5hours / 4,5hours (with pickup service).

Aurora hunting

The host of Apartment knows the best spots to see and capture the northern lights. We’ll go on the lake, river or even to tundra to try to see the northern lights. The destination is chosen by driver, depending of the weather conditions. You will get to keep some of the best photos from the tour taken by your guide (by WhatsApp)

The tour requires normal physical condition. The car is always close by so you can warm up in the car if needed and warm juice and biscuits is offered during the tour. Please note that Auroras are natural phenomenal and Northern lights cannot be guarantee. Safaris not to be arranged during the totally cloudy/snowy weather. If the sky is partly cloudy we will hunt for the clear spots on the sky.

This hunting trip is always booked individually depending on the weather. If it rains a lot of snow, we may not be able to find a cloudless area. So then we will stay at home...

Snowmobile tours

We offer you various of snowmobile safaris.

Snowmobile sledge tour to the wild wilderness forest and lakes starts right in the backyard of the Apartment. Petteri is a driver of the new ecological snowmobile. The snowmobile sleigh is equipped with warm reindeer hides and blanket. You will get a helmet and if you need, warm winter boots dressed. In addition, you can rent a warm winter coverall if needed. The sleigh is not so cold place, even if there is cold frost outside. First we will drive to yhe top of nearby hill, from where we can see a beautiful view of river Ivalo and village Ivalo. Next is a a wilderness lake where we will check the thickness of the ice. The water in the lake is spring fresh and 100% pure for drinking. Then we will try to find some reindeer, which are living in wilderness. Sometimes we can see a large herd of reindeer, sometimes none or just a few. In Finland, reindeer are privately owned, but they live freely in the wilderness.

We drive so far into the wilderness that we can listen complete silence. How peaceful and quiet the nature can be! There we will enjoy hot juice and biscuits. On the way back, on the ice of the wilderness lake, you could try ride a snowmobile yourself (together with your guide) around the lake for about 0,9 km.

The sledge is for 6 people, so maybe there are some other people too. You can ask privat tour...

Snowmobile Safari by snowmobile road to forest

This small group safari is a perfect choice to get your first snowmobile driving experiences, track is planned to suit your skills. Staff of this family company will dress you up warmly at their office in Ivalo.

Experienced guide will give you good instructions on snowmobile handling before heading to the track. During this safari, you’ll learn how to drive snowmobile along frozen Ivalo River aanda forest road. Trail distance in total about 25km. You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on one snowmobile, with opportunity to switch places during the trip.

Private guided snowmobiling for one person (new)

Brand new large four-stroke snowmobile with Turbo. Snowmobiling along the official route to the wilderness or to the beautiful Lake Inari. You can drive with a guide on the ice of river and lake. The guide sits in the back seat. The guide always drives in the forest.
Includes driving suit (size M, L or XL), helmet, gloves and warm socks and shoes. You need your own warm clothes under the suit. We also take photos and observe the amazing, pure nature of Lapland.
Also includes hot natural juice and cookies. Travel time is 2.5 hours, price 240€.

Rent your own snowmobile (new)

Now it is possible to rent one powerful 4-stroke snowmobile for 24 hours! If you are not a first timer, this is for you! Drive with your partner far away to Lake Inari or to the real wilderness. The price is 350 euros, includes helmets, handling guidance, route overview and insurance.

You can make several rides of different lengths if you want. It is possible to rent from 15 o´clock to next day 15 o´clock. The route permit costs 15 euros. I'll help to get it.

King Crab safari to Norway (only Tuesdays)

A totally unforgettable experience awaits you on the frozen fjords of northern Norway.

This is your chance to catch, learn how to cook, and most importantly EAT this mysterious creature. The Arctic King Crab is one of the most sort after meals in top restaurants, and yet here, you get to eat the best and the freshest, pulled from the fjord in front of your eyes. You all take part in helping to saw the hole in the ice and bring up the catch. You will see how the crab is prepared by your master guide, and you will be taken by snowmobile sledge (an experience in itself) to a beautiful farmhouse by the lake.

Please note: This tour is done by snowmobile in Norway (fisherman drives snowmobile and guests are in sledge behind the snowmobile), and not by divers or in a boat.

Visit to a reindeer farm

This is a real authentic reindeer farm

Often you have the opportunity to see reindeer living in Lapland like a wildlife, even though each reindeer has a private owner.

Sometimes reindeer are so far in the wilderness that the only way to see them is to visit the reindeer owners farm. He usually has a special yard fence at home 10-30 reindeer. We have organic reindeer food with us.

This visit is done by car, 40km

Traditional Lappish dinner by open fire

Reindeer and mooses meat, mushrooms, potatoes, berries and/or fish are the main part of the food of the original Lappish family.

Now we can offer you and your friends (max 5people) a traditional dinner in a Lapland-style hut hut by the open fire.

Dinner does not include alcohol, but you can take your own wine or beer if you want.

Now you also have the opportunity for a very, very rare experience. Our hunting group caught a young bear. I prepare a small portion of bear meat with side dishes. This is served before the main course.

The meat is officially inspected by a veterinarian and is clean of everything.

The price is 30€/person. If 2 people make an order, it can be cooked this.

I can offer other experiences too, but maybe they don´t include pick up service or they have other challanges, so ask these, if you want for example reindeer safari or sauna with an ice hole or Ice fishing.
